Community Outreach Programs for Youth

The Klamath Basin Pickleball Association has a robust community outreach program for youths, conducting pickleball camps and classes. Members of KBPA have actively participated in these various efforts for the past four years.

We have more programs coming up this spring and summer 2024. For example, beginning the week of May 6th, Shasta Elementary School will sponsor its second annual Bike and Pickleball Afterschool Activity at Steen’s Sports Park. We will need 6 volunteers each day. Cec Amuchastegui is the lead coordinator for the programs and will post the days and times when volunteers are needed.

Come be a part of our outreach efforts on behalf of our local youth!

Volunteering for Youth Programs

All KBPA members are encouraged to volunteer as mentors and coaches to help students learn pickleball rules, guidelines, and beginning play techniques. It is a common practice to have 1 volunteer working with 1 to 4 students at a time. All volunteers are provided initial direction from a lead instructor

When a specific youth program is sponsored by the Klamath Falls City Schools or the Klamath County School District, each KBPA volunteer must fill out a form to have a background check completed. If you are interested in volunteering, please download the form below from this web site (Criminal History Verification of Volunteers), complete the necessary information and sign it, and then return the form to Cec Amuchastegui at cec.amuch@gmail.com. Cec will work with the school districts to generate a list of approved volunteers.
